Baby Remember My Name, edited by Michelle Tea, was the first book I was published in. The book features personal stories from queer writers in their twenties and was published by Carroll & Graf Publishers.
I had the opportunity to read an excerpt of my story opening for Michelle in Portland, and by the end of the night, she asked me to submit the story I had read for the book she was editing. I was also invited to fly to San Francisco to read at the Radar Reading series at the SF Library, where Michelle famously handed out fresh-baked cookies at every reading.
Being part of this book set me on my path as a writer, and Iām forever grateful for the experience.
